New Jersey City University Awards Diplomasto Graduates.
Ona beautiful sunny day in New Jersey, friends and families of NewJersey City University graduates gathered for the commencementceremony to celebrate the achievements of their loved ones. Theceremony was one of the highlights of the academic year and broughttogether the graduates, faculty, staff, and members of the communityto celebrate their hard work and dedication.
Theceremony commenced with an opening procession led by NJCU's provostand followed by the school's exceptional faculty members. Thegraduating class of 2021 also participated in a traditionalgraduation walk, donning black gowns and caps as they march to theirseats.
Inhis opening remarks, NJCU President Sue Henderson congratulated theclass of 2021 for overcoming the challenges of the past year. "Youpersisted through an unprecedented crisis, and demonstratedresilience and resourcefulness in the face of adversity, now go outand conquer the world," she said.
Thekeynote speaker, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, commended thegraduates for their efforts and sacrifices that have led to theirsuccess today. He also urged them to remain committed to their dreamsand aspirations even in the face of challenges that will inevitablycome their way.
"Asyou enter the workforce, always remember that learning never stops;continue to seek out opportunities to grow, innovate, and make changein the world."
NJCUProvost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Daniel Julius and thedeans of each academic school took turns presenting the degreecandidates who were cheered on by friends and families.
Theceremony featured outstanding musical performances by NJCU students,and special recognitions were given to several individuals who havemade exceptional contributions to the university and the community.
Asthe ceremony drew to a close, the graduates received their diplomas,their images projected onto a giant screen, as friends and familymembers cheered them on.
Theclass of 2021 left NJCU with newly minted diplomas and equipped withthe knowledge and tools needed to take on the future. The world iswaiting for their talents, ideas, and contributions, and it is clearthat they are more than ready to take on whatever challenges lifethrows their way.
